We will also have Rummoli (a fast and easy game to learn) set up for play for those who prefer not to play Euchre.

The Ottawa Rainbow Rockers Curling League reminds members that registration for the 7th annual Over the Rainbow Bonspiel will open Saturday, January 14th, 2012 at 12:00 Noon, EST. To register your team please visit: http://www.rainbowrockers.com at noon this coming Saturday! This year we are holding a single registration for both in and out of town teams. Spots are limited and expected to fill quickly.

Holiday Curling and Banquet

I am looking for volunteers to help run the 50/50 draws after games this Sunday (December 4), 2011 as well as at the Funspiel on December 18, 2011. Please confirm to me at promotions@rainbowrockers.com and I'll provide further details.

With Round 1 of the 2011-12 season almost complete, the Rainbow Rockers Curling League is hosting an Intermediate Clinic at the Ottawa Curling Club on Saturday, December 3rd from 2 to 6 p.m.

Details:

* The entire session will be offered on-ice.
* Topics of instruction will include: basics of the curling delivery (flat foot), how to throw more weight, how to correctly apply the rotation ("turn"), explanation of the dreaded "C" curve, how to avoid "fish-tailing" and "chicken-winging", general fine-tuning of participants deliveries, correction of sweeping technique, etc...

STRATEGY CLINIC: SATURDAY - NOVEMBER 12

Join our own Lee Mantha as he hosts a strategy clinic at the Ottawa Curling Club (upstairs in the mezzanine) this Saturday from 1 - 4 PM.

Details:

* The entire session will be offered off-ice.
* Topics of discussion will include basic strategy (i.e.) tactics vs. strategy, what to do with or without last rock, "playing the score board", when to take chances or when not to, when to guard and when to come into the rings, etc...

Cost: $10 per person
