Rainbow Rockers Curling Clinic - Sunday, October 3 (11 AM - 3 PM)
[NOTE: Our first day of curling, which is a funspiel, immediately follows the clinic]
Join our reigning league champion, Lee Mantha, along with a dedicated group of instructors as they lead you through the basics of curling. The session will include both off and on-ice instruction. Be sure to bring suitable on-ice attire (see below). The cost for the session is $10. Please register in advance to bonspiel@rainbowrockers.com.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the two hours will be on ice – please dress accordingly – The important thing is to wear clothes that are warm and comfortable and which allow ease of movement. To be able to deliver a stone correctly, a curler requires a proper sliding shoe, one having a slick, low-friction material that covers the entire sole and heel. The non-sliding foot is equally as important and requires a “gripper”.
To familiarize yourself with terminology and for more information on equipment and in general all facets of the game please refer to the Canadian Curling Association website www.curling.ca and click on the “go curling!” tab.
