Schedule Rules 2008-2009
1) The 25 teams will be split into three divisions: A, B and C. They have been ranked to start the year based on past performance, skill level and composition of new members or teams.
2) The A and B divisions will have 8 teams each and the C division will have 9 teams.
3) There will be 3 rounds in which teams will move up or down from their respective divisions based on the following:
4) This format will allow for all teams to have an equal chance to win the league. The league winner will be determined by the top A team based on points earned in the third round only. Points will only be used at the end of each round for promoting or demoting teams between divisions. There are no accumulated points from round to round.
The tie-breakers are:
5) Each team will play 7 games per round. In the A and B division, it will be a round robin against each of the teams in the division. In the case of the C division with an odd number of teams (9) each team will play 7 games except for one team which will play 8 games to allow for a minimum of 7 games per team. The one team playing 8 games will only count the points from the first 7 games played. The 8th game for the one team is only to give equal amounts of games that count for points for each team in the C division. The C division rounds will not be round robin as there are 9 teams and only 7 games in each round.
6) NOTE: Due to the addition of three teams this year, we will be curling some Saturdays and at 1:00 PM on Sundays this year to accommodate a balanced schedule. Please check your schedule carefully not to miss any games.
7) If you have any questions regarding the schedule please speak with or email the Drawmaster, Michael Lynch.
8) Please refer to the league rules for re-scheduling games and substituting missing players.
