EUCHRE, BONPIELS, UPDATES, OH MY

REMINDER- EUCHRE (Please RSVP)

We will be hosting our next Euchre night on Saturday, November 21. We curl on Saturday, so shortly after the final game wraps up(around 8pm) we will begin the Euchre Tournament.

The format will be 6 games, with cash prizes going to the top winners and to the player with the most lone hands. Other prizes, donated by Moosehead, will be given to the first lone hand, the lowest over-all score, and the first King-Ace of Diamonds in Rumolli. Other prizes may be given out as we see fit. We just love giving out prizes.

Our Saturday card night is being sponsored by Moosehead, so please make sure to return the support and drink Moosehead and Gritstone throughout the day on Saturday.

The kitchen at the club will be open on Saturday for those of you who will be hungry getting off the ice.

Cost for entry is $20 for Euchre and $10 for Rumolli. During the tournament snacks will be on hand. Please RSVP with Drew at promotions@rainbowrockers.com so we can plan for tables, food, etc. In your email, indicate which game you will be playing. As always, everyone is welcome to join us so pass this on to friends, family, exes, etc.

ROUND 2

The second round of curling will start on Sunday, November 22. Your game time will be dependent on the final placement of teams after Round 1 on Saturday. We will get the schedule for Round 2 up on the web and up at the rink as soon as possible Saturday night. A reminder that we also have one round of Saturday Curling in Round 2, on January 20th. That Saturday will also be another Euchre Tournament, so stay tuned for those announcements.

OVER THE RAINBOW BONSPIEL 2010

Volunteers are needed for the OTRB 2010, March 26-28, 2010. We need folks to sit on the bonpiel committee and to volunteer to help out during the bonspiel itself. If you are interested in joining the bonpiel committee contact Lee as soon as possible at bonspiel@rainbowrockers.com

ETIQUETTE

Just a reminder that it is proper etiquette in a social league like ours that the winning team buys the losing team a drink after the game. But it is also proper etiquette for the losing team to return the gesture and always buy a drink back. Even if you aren't staying for a second drink, it is polite to offer to buy back.

CANADIAN GAY CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2009-2010 Canadian Gay Curling Championships will be held Easter weekend in Calgary. We would really like to send 2 teams to Nationals and hopefully more to the recreational event as well. We will be hosting CGCC Nationals in 2011, and making connections and promoting our bonspiel is a key to a successful bonspiel in 2011. Registrations will be open shortly for those interested in the playdowns for the 2 spots at the Nationals. The playdowns will be January 3rd, and only those people that are full or spare members of the RRCL are eligible to participate. Start planning your teams now and avoid the rush.
