Welcome to the 2009-2010 Season

Greetings Rainbow Rockers,

Now that the season is back in full swing, please note these reminders and upcoming events.

Saturday Curling
This season, we have three regularly scheduled Saturday curling days. The first one is this coming Saturday, October 24th. November 21 and January 30 are the others. All teams play!

Beginner and Intermediate Clinic - Saturday, November 7
There was sufficient interest at the Meet and Greet to proceed with a beginner and intermediate clinic. Details and sign-up information will follow.

Game Duration - Correction
At 25 minutes before the scheduled finish time, teams should finish the end they are playing and play one more. Skips should watch the clock and confirm with the other skip the intention to play the additional end. Incorrect information was distributed to skips last Sunday.

Spares
Should you be unable to curl, it is your responsibility to inform your skip with sufficient notice so that he/she can arrange for a spare. Skips are responsible to make every effort to find spares in compliance with the league sparing policy. The spares list will be updated shortly as a number of new spares have recently joined the league. Please make every effort to use them before calling on a regular member.

Defaults
As the Rainbow Rockers are considered a rental league, we do not have access to ice outside of our regularly scheduled draw times. As a result, arranging ice for make up games is very difficult. Should the rescheduling of a game prove to be impossible, the team that was unable to field a team, or the first team to communicate this inability, shall default the game. Games may be played outside of the club (at team expense) provided league rules are maintained and scores are provided to the Drawmaster before the end of the current round of curling.

Full league rules, including etiquette, is available on our website at www.rainbowrockers.com.

Euchre Night
The first euchre night of the season will be held following Saturday curling on November 21 (approximately 8:00 PM). The event is open to all euchre enthusiasts - so spread the word. Mark your calendars and watch for more information.

Holiday Curling
Although it is way to early to be thinking about the Holidays, keep Sunday, December 20 open for our annual holiday curling funspiel and banquet.

I would like to personally welcome all new and returning members and spares to the league. Have a great season of curling and friendly sportsmanship!
