Hi Rainbow rocker members and spares

This is just a reminder that after the fun spiel/banquet on December 21st, curling will resume in the new year starting on SATURDAY JANUARY 3rd/2009.

Please consult the posted schedule for your playing times.

Wednesday is the deadline to register for the annual Xmas curling and banquet. Limited space is still available for either the 3 PM or 5 PM draws. Members pay only $10. The cost for spares and guests is $25.

Please e-mail me at president@rainbowrockers.com before Wednesday at 6 PM and indicate the time you would like to curl. I will get back to you to confirm.

Reminder to those who have not paid - please remember to pay me before curling starts to receive your dinner ticket.

This weekend, December 11-15, 2008, the Ottawa and Rideau Curling Clubs are hosting the John Shea Insurance (JSI) Women’s Canada Cup Qualifier (http://www.seasonofchampions.ca/2008ccqw/).

This event features the top women’s curling teams in the country!

Event passes are $30 for the weekend, with individual day passes available!

Come out and watch some of the best curling you will ever see!

This year the Rainbow Rockers Curling League (RRCL) will be hosting it's annual Over The Rainbow Bonspiel (OTRB), March 27-29, 2009.

We are looking for committee members to help organize this year's event. We are looking for 10-15 people to help. Current members and vacancies are listed below:

There will be an intermediate curling clinic at the Ottawa Curling Club on Saturday November 15th. This will be of interest to curlers with some experience, who want to improve their skill level. The clinic starts at 9:30 a.m. and will end around 4:00 p.m. Off-ice instruction will be offered in the morning until noon and then on-ice instruction in the afternoon starting at 1:30. Everyone is on their own for lunch. Cost is $20.00 and can be paid on Saturday. If there are any questions, please contact Kevin Wilson at membersip@rainbowrockers.com.

Our first euchre tournament of the season will be held on Saturday November 29th at approximately 7:30 PM (following the conclusion of the regularly scheduled 5 PM game). The registration fee is $20. You may register during the 50/50 sales at the next two games or to register electronically, send your name and
e-mail to Jeff Morrison at promotions@rainbowrockers.com.

The tournament is open to everyone and there will be snacks and prizes - so spread the word!

Registration for the Fall Fun Spiel will close on Friday, October 31 at 4pm. To register, please send an e-mail directly to Kevin Falkingham, Acting Bonspiel Chair at kfalking@hotmail.com. Registration is $15. Everyone will play 2 games, and all of the money collected will be used as prizes and/or coupons.

Game times (here's the changes!) will be: 12 noon & 3:00pm.

If you have already signed up for the spiel, but have not paid, you must pay before starting your first game. Please see Kevin Falkingham.

A reminder to league members that there is curling for several teams this Saturday. Teams Vollrath, Tremblay, Douglas, Hebert, Currie, and Crance play at 3:00 PM. Teams Gallant, Arbiter, Cornelius, Chow , Peloquin, and Robbins play at 5:00 PM.

Regrettably, the Bare Your Bones bonspiel has been cancelled due to low registration. All payments received will be returned to the skip of each team. We hope to consider hosting the event next year, any comments or suggestions would be appreciated and can be sent to bonspiel@rainbowrockers.com.

The Rainbow Rockers are hosting the first Bare Your Bones Bonspiel October 31 - November 2. Registration is now open but currently sits at only 10 teams, and we need 6 more to reach our minimum... we all want a whole 16, don't we? Registration costs $320 per team and will remain open until Friday, October 10 at 6:00 pm. Visit www.rainbowrockers.com/bareyourbones today to register.
