Hot Shots Curling Camp, October 2-4, 2009 at the RA Curling Club

Every year Hot Shots Curling Camps are offered around the Province. The level of instruction is tailored to the participants as they are grouped and divided based on level of experience, (i.e.) beginner, novice, intermediate and advanced. They cover as diverse topics as the basics of delivery to high level strategy and training.

Nominations Now Open For 2009-2010 Executive Committee

Nominations for the 2009-2010 Executive Committee are now open. This year, the position of President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bonspiel Chair, and Promotions Coordinator are open. Please note that the position of Secretary is elected for two years at a time.

Only current, full time members of the league may make nominations or be nominated to serve on the committee. For more information on the roles of the executive committee, please see http://www.rainbowrockers.com/executive. Nominations will be open until midnight on March 22nd, 2009. A member must be nominated by two or more members in order to be considered for a position on the executive. Members may nominate themselves.

To make a nomination, please sign onto the Rainbow Rockers website, select Executive Committee Nomination from the menu, and complete the on-line form.

Please ensure all games are completed and scores recorded. Skips are to notify Mike Lynch (drawmaster@rainbowrockers.com) as soon as possible if they will not be playing a remaining regularly scheduled game. Some teams are looking for make-up ice.

Volunteers for the OTRB 2009

We are currently looking for volunteers to help in preparing the team packages on Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 at the OCC upstairs. If you are available, please let us know by forwarding this email to bonspiel@rainbowrockers.com.

Also, if you are willing to help with cleaning tables of trash and empties, setting up for the banquet, putting up all the draws and posters, as well as serving shooters during the afternoon draws and during the ceremonial first draw of the bonspiel, please also let us know your availability and interest.

Exective Nominations Deadline Approaching

Just a reminder that the deadline for nominations for the 2009-2010 Executive Committee of the Rainbow Rockers is the end of day, Sunday, March 22nd. This year, the positions of President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bonspiel Chair, and Promotions Coordinator are open.

2009-2010 Executive Committee Has Been Selected

Nominations are now closed for the 2009-2010 Executive Committee. A special thank you goes out to all the members who took the time to nominate someone for the committee.

As a result of the nomination process, all positions have filled by acclamation, therefore there will not be any elections held this year. Results of the nomination process will be formally announced at the April 5th closing banquet.

RRCL Registration for Next Season

As Membership Coordinator, I am very pleased to announce that membership registration for the 2009-2010 curling season is electronic. This will eliminate the paper process but still provide the league with the information we require for the website and planning.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2009 Over-The-Rainbow Bonspiel. We were pleased to welcome teams from across Canada and we hope to see all our friends again next year.
